01/23/09 Camp Survey Notes. The Camp survey was done by Lora Koenig from approximately 1300 UTC to 1745 UTC. The sled was stationary from approximately 1220-145 while feet and hands were warmed. The half Nansen sled was used to mount the GPS antenna because the Pollypod is broken. The bottom of the antenna was 102 cm off of the ground and the sled tracks were <1 cm deep on the hard surface. There were many large drifts in camp that were dangerous to drive over. The survey did it's best to drive over the drift or around them. Additionally it was difficult to get near the camp buildings because of the large drifts. The clean air bondary lines wee not visible so only area's known to be in the clean air zone were driven. 01/24/09 Walking Camp survey The GPS was hooked onto the backpack to walk addition area's for the camp surevey. This was done because the drifts were too dangerouse to snowmobile over. Area's that were walked included the flux facility, the greenhouse, the shop, the ballonn barn and TAWO. The hieght to the bottom of the antenna was 162.5 cm off the ground when hooked to the backpack.
